Steve Wilson began playing saxophone at 9 years old and quickly found his love for performing. He started his own jazz combo at 13 years old which was featured at the 1994 Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. While still pursuing music education through school and private instruction Steve continued to also perform in several small groups. He gained his first studio experience at the age of 14, performed and recorded with a saxophone quartet and often sat in on different jam sessions throughout his community, all at a very young age.
In 1996 at the age of 16 Steve joined a local ska band called Skiptooth whose popularity grew immensely during their time together. Their music was featured on MTV’s Road Rules, MTV’s The Cut, Crusty Demons of Dirt III (LBZ motocross video series), many globally distributed compilation albums and their own successful EP.
Since then Steve has continued to perform in many groups throughout Southern California including Superbad, The Newport Beat, the Night Doctors, The Skeptics, Mia Karter and the Hits and The Winehouse Experience.
